Frown lines, or the 11s.
The vertical lines between your eyebrows come from the corrugator supercilii pulling your brows toward each other and the procerus pulling the space between them down. Together they are the glabellar complex, and they are why you look annoyed in photographs where you were concentrating.
This is the most studied area in aesthetic medicine. Every one of the six FDA-approved neuromodulators earned its cosmetic approval on glabellar lines specifically — it is the indication the trials were built around.
What treatment does
Injections into the corrugators and procerus reduce how hard those muscles pull. The lines soften as the skin stops being folded, and the resting expression opens up. Effect builds over about two weeks, lasts three to four months.
There is a secondary effect worth knowing about: relaxing the depressors often produces a small lift at the medial brow, because the frontalis is no longer fighting them. Some people come for the lines and stay for that.
The safety point that belongs on this page
The glabella carries a specific vascular risk — not from neuromodulator, but from filler. The supratrochlear and supraorbital vessels run through this region and connect to the ocular circulation, which is why glabellar filler is one of the highest-risk injections in aesthetics for vascular occlusion and vision loss.
Neuromodulator here does not carry that risk. But if someone proposes filling glabellar lines rather than relaxing them, that is a conversation worth having carefully. We keep hyaluronidase on site and we practice ultrasound-guided placement, and we still treat this area with more caution than any other on the face.

Will this help my headaches?
Botox is FDA-approved for chronic migraine, but that is a different protocol, a different dose, and a different set of injection sites than cosmetic glabellar treatment. If migraine is your reason for coming, say so — that is a medical evaluation, not a cosmetic one, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right practice for it.
My lines are visible even when my face is relaxed.
Those are static lines. They soften over repeated treatments as the skin stops folding, but deeply etched ones may need resurfacing to change materially.
Can I treat only the 11s?
Yes, and it is often the right call — particularly if your brow is heavy and treating the forehead would make it heavier.
