Laser Tattoo Removal · Newport News
Laser tattoo removal.
Honest timelines, published per-session pricing, and no contracts — at a real medical practice, not a storefront. Every patient starts with a medical evaluation and a realistic plan.
How removal works
Short laser pulses shatter tattoo ink into particles small enough for your body to clear over the following weeks. Different ink colors absorb different wavelengths, so multi-color work is treated accordingly. We treat on the Rohrer Spectrum platform, with −30°C air cooling from the Zimmer Cryo 6 to keep sessions comfortable and protect the surrounding skin. Because clearance happens between sessions, removal is a series spaced several weeks apart.
Skin tones and ink colors — straight answers
We treat on a Q-switched Nd:YAG platform (1064 nm and 532 nm). It’s most effective on black and other dark inks and treats many red and warm-toned inks. Some colors — green, blue, purple, yellow, and white — respond slowly, unpredictably, or not at all to these wavelengths, and cosmetic or permanent-makeup pigments can occasionally darken before they fade. The 1064 nm wavelength is well suited to darker skin tones, with settings matched to your skin to target ink while protecting the skin around it. We won’t promise a tattoo gone in a fixed number of sessions, and we’ll tell you honestly at your evaluation when a color is unlikely to clear fully.
A medical evaluation first
Every patient receives a medical evaluation with a board-certified nurse practitioner and an individualized plan before the first session — your skin type, the tattoo, your history, and a realistic timeline. Sessions and pricing are published per session, with no contracts and no package you’re locked into.
Questions
How many sessions does it take?
It varies widely — typically several sessions six to eight weeks apart, depending on ink colors, density, depth, age, and your skin. Professional tattoos usually take more than amateur ones. We give you an honest estimate at your evaluation.
Can you remove colored ink and treat darker skin?
All skin tones, yes — the 1064 nm wavelength is well suited to deeper skin types, with settings matched to you. On color: our Nd:YAG platform works best on black and dark inks and treats many warm and red tones, but green, blue, purple, yellow, and white respond poorly or may not clear. We give you a realistic assessment at your evaluation rather than a blanket promise.
Does it hurt, and will it scar?
Most describe it as comparable to getting the tattoo. Done correctly, the risk of scarring is low — which is exactly why the evaluation and the right settings matter.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Pricing is published per session and there are no contracts. You pay as you go.
