Hooded eyes and the brow lift.
A heavy upper lid has two different causes and they have two different answers. Getting this wrong is how people spend money on a treatment that was never going to work.
Is it the muscle or the skin?
Your brow sits at a balance point. The frontalis lifts it. The corrugators, procerus, and the upper fibers of the orbicularis pull it down. If the depressors are winning, the brow sits lower than it needs to and the lid looks hooded — and that is correctable.
If the heaviness is excess upper lid skin — dermatochalasis — the brow position is not the problem and lifting it a millimeter or two will not fix it. That is a surgical question, and the answer is a blepharoplasty consult with an oculoplastic surgeon, not units.
Here is a rough self-test: lift your brow gently with a finger. If that looks like the result you want, a neuromodulator lift may get you part of the way. If the hood stays put, it is skin.
What the treatment actually delivers
Selectively relaxing the depressors while leaving the frontalis able to lift produces a modest elevation — usually a couple of millimeters at the lateral brow. That is enough to open the eye and change how rested you look. It is not a surgical lift and we will not describe it as one.
The technique matters more here than almost anywhere. Treating the forehead too heavily in the same session drops the brow and undoes the whole point.
